Graffiti - Art or Vandalism?

Graffiti, at times, may appear innocent and may even be 'artistic'. However, whether graffiti is of the 'tagging' kind (an individuals attempt at expression) or gang related (claiming an area for themselves), both are a crime. Placing graffiti on a person's or business's property without their permission is vandalism and punishable under law.

The Graffiti Abatement program is responsible for the abatement of graffiti on private and public property in Rosamond. By removing this eyesore, the community is saying; no, we're not going to allow this.

How do we do it?

We have a public works truck equipped with a high pressure - compressed air system. Call the District at 256-3411 and report any 'signs' of graffiti in your area.
